MoldFlow Analysis
Our analysis type involves predicting how a void in melted plastic material will be filled. During the filling process, we conduct our analysis taking into account the effects of heat transfer between the material and the mold, as well as the changes in viscosity of the plastic material as it begins to solidify. By simulating the filling process in three dimensions, we can examine the profile of the flowing melted plastic from the mold cavity. We can assist in identifying potential defects such as incomplete filling, weld lines, and air entrapment that may arise from the injection process, helping you find the optimal injection position.
Our analysis services provide significant advantages for companies designing plastic parts or injection molds. We can help predict and prevent manufacturing defects in the early stages of part and mold design. This eliminates the need for costly retooling, enhances part quality, and shortens time to market. By conducting analyses during the initial stages of product development, where the cost of change is lowest and the impact on manufacturability is highest, we can improve part quality and minimize production scrap rates.
We offer analyses such as mold flow and fill analysis, mold cooling analysis, runner design optimization, pressure and temperature analyses, and evaluations of post-injection defects like warpage, sink marks, cold joints, and gas entrapment. These allow us to examine how mold designs will affect parts, helping to anticipate and prevent potential production errors before any mold is cut.
By reducing the need for time-consuming and costly mold rework, we ensure project delivery within schedule and budget constraints. Our services facilitate meeting shipment deadlines and ensuring project completion without the setbacks often associated with manufacturing flaws.
